City On-Grid Hybrid Electric Bus Project
The design and construction of the Kansas City On-Grid
Hybrid Electric Bus will be completed in Germany. Test trials will be conducted immediately after,
in Germany and the United States. A baseline bus currently
in production will be provided to run in parallel services
and trials. This will generate necessary comparison data.

Daimler Chrysler

Upon completion of production, the bus will undergo
initial testing by DaimlerChrysler in Germany,
with expected delivery to Kansas City.

The University of Kansas ~ Lawrence,
KS
The University of Kansas and the KU Car Care program
will test the vehicle's exhaust emissions under a range
of operating scenarios.

KCATA ~ Kansas City, MO
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority will maintain
a record of operating parameters and maintenance needs
of the vehicle during its life in Kansas City.
Other Test Trials
A number of other initiatives are underway and
will be conducting test trials that will supplement the
data
collected by the Kansas City On-Grid Hybrid
Bus Project. Additional vehicles are currently being
produced for
trials in various European markets.
